Statement given by Shahbaz Sharif is non-serious: Babar Awan

ISLAMABAD: PPP leader Babar Awan has said statement given by chief minister Punjab is non-serious adding those who have become disappointed in politics should not give such statements.

Babar Awan said this while addressing a press conference here in PID Monday. He held Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was fully empowered and no interference was being made in its affairs.
“We will get conduct judicial inquiry of the statement given by Shahbaz Sharif. Politicians had not given such statement in past what Shahbaz Sharif had said, he added. “We will ask Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to nominate judge of Supreme Court (SC) to hold judicial inquiry”, he underlined.
He went on to say that PAC not only given clean chit to the accounts pertaining to Parvez Musharraf regime but also accounts related to Shaukat Aziz stint in power were cleared. These two accounts had no relevance with the present government, he pointed out.
He reiterated PPP believes in politics of reconciliation and pursues the politics of accommodation.
He said President Asif Ali Zardari was the only president who was elected with two thirds majority.
National Reconciliation was doctrine of Benazir Bhutto and then present regime will continue it, he said.
The impression being given about non implementation of judiciary orders was false and misleading propaganda, he told. This was outcome of efforts for reconciliation, he said. This was result of our reconciliation policy that all the resolutions tabled by the government were accepted. Online
