KHYBER AGENCY: At least three NATO oil tankers were set ablaze in
Khyber Agency’s Landi Kotal area on the Pak-Afghan highway on Monday.
According to the media reports, the explosion occurred in one of the
oil tankers which resulted in a container catching fire as well. Fire
fighters reached the site, evacuating the area and other vehicles were
shifted to a secure location to prevent further damage.
The
blast occurred during iftari time while drivers were eating at a local
hotel nearby. There were no casualties or injuries reported yet.
Earlier more than a dozen NATO tankers had caught fire following a
blast in a container terminal in the Ring Road area late on Saturday. A
police source had informed The Express Tribune that the blast took
place in the Fauji Logistics, where at least 55 tankers were parked
when the fire broke out.
The report quoting sources added that around 30 of these tankers had caught fire and only 15 could be taken to a safer place. Online
