Contempt of court filed against PM, interior minister

ISLAMABAD: A case of contempt of court has been filed against PM, Yousaf Raza Gilani and interior minister Rehman Malik regarding re-instatement of former investigation officer,
Hajj corruption case, Hussain Asghar.
The petitioner, advocate Tariq Asad has prayed that PM did not want to reinstate former investigative officer Hussain Asghar, because Hussain Asghar had investigated PM’s son, Abdul Qadir Gilani in connection with Hajj corruption case.
The petition says that endeavors were made to soil the entire Supreme Court investigations of Hajj Corruption case by terminating the services of an honest and zealous investigative official, who has still not been reinstated, despite his reinstatement being ordered by the Supreme Court.
The petitioner says that after passing of the grace period for reinstatement of the investigative officer, Hussain Asghar, PM Yousaf Raza Gilani and interior minister Rehman Malik had committed contempt of Court as according to article 204 of the Constitution; despite the fact that secretary establishment had been issued notice by the Supreme Court for reinstatement of the investigation officer.
