PESHAWAR: The DCO Peshawar along with Special Magistrate visited
various bazaars of the provincial capital to ensure the availability of
essential edible items on reasonable rates by heading of holy month of
Ramzan.
Acceding to details, by keeping in view the upcoming of
holy month of Ramazan and ensure the availability of essential edible
items in the market on reasonable rates particularly the wheat and
sugar, the DCO Peshawar along with Special Magistrate visited various
bazaars of Peshawar City including Ashraf Road, Rampura Gate and
Hashtnagri, says a press release issued here on Thursday. On this
occasion it was informed that rate of fine Atta 20 Kg bag has been
reduced from Rs. 590/- to Rs. 565/- and special Atta 20 Kg bag reduced
from Rs. 585/- to Rs. 545/- while rate of Atta bag of 85 Kg reduced
upto Rs. 100/- per bag.
The DCO warned the Nanbais to maintain
the weight and price of the Roti as fixed by the Price Review
Committee. Similarly, the meeting was informed that sugar was available
in the market at per Kg of Rs. 68/- as Ex Mill Rate Rs. 69.80 whole
sale and Rs. 72/- retail price.
However, it was stressed that
the Federal Government to bound down the sugar mills association to
avoid increase in its rates during the month of Ramazan.
The DCO also visited Faqir Abad and Dalazak Road and found the cleanliness situation satisfactory.
He
also inspected poultry market and noticed decrease in the rate of
poultry after the imposition of section 144 CRPC on transportation of
poultry to Afghanistan.
Similarly, the Rational Controller,
Peshawar Assistant Food Controller Peshawar, ACO Peshawar, Special
Magistrate Peshawar and TMO Town-II Peshawar on Thursday carried out
price checking of 148 shops in various localities of Peshawar and
lodged 18 FIR, against shopkeepers and imposed fine of Rs. 92,000/- on
various shopkeepers for overcharging. Online
