Supreme Court orders government to implement flood commission report

Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered provincial and federal government to implement investigation report from flood commission in its true spirit and court summoned report about the implementation within 15 days.

Three members bench consisted of Justice Tariq Parvez and Justice Amir Hanni Muslim headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry announced the decision of plea of MNA Marvi Mammon after observing the report of flood commission.
The court ordered federal and local government to be published report in the electronic and print media of the country.
While SC has ordered that chief, secretaries of all the provinces will be responsible to submit the following report in SC after 15days and government is responsible to save masses lives.
Appreciating the role of media and members of commission, court stated that head of commission Muhammad Azam Khan including three members, former chief secretary and Balochistan Fateh Khan, former federal secretary AW Qani and Khwaja Zahir Ahmad have performed their duty with honesty, while media also did well during flood.
Commission proposed that audit should be conducted of Irrigation Department about its ten years expenditures of and mafia should be restricted to left the Kacha area.
Report stated that due to flood 45 lack children’s education were affected and more than two crore people were affected by different diseases.
Chairman WAPDA is of the view in the report that water can be conserve up to 10-15pc in the whole country, while rest of water is going in waste and if we use conserving this water to produce electricity and it would be avail at very cheap cost.
Whereas report further stated that til now suitable measures are not taken in the affected areas to avoid flood destructions in the future. SANA
