10 people injured in Ozair Baloch’s convoy attack

At least 10 people were injured in a hand grenade attack on Peoples’ Peace Committee Chairman Ozair Jan Baloch’s convoy in Liyari area of Karachi, the economic hub of Pakistan, police sources said.

The attack took place on Mirza Adam Khan Road near Ghanchi Para in Ghas Mandi area of Liyari when unidentified armed men attacked Ozair Baloch’s convey with hand grenade while the convoy was returning after attending a meeting. Ozair Baloch remained unhurt in the blast.
According to eyewitnesses, the assailants riding two to three bikes opened indiscriminate fire before threw hand grenade and fled after swift operation.
Rescues team rushed to the spot and started shifting the injured to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment. Six injured have been shifted to CHK, rescues sources said.
It is pertinent to mention here that the recent blast was the forth-in Liyari alone within one month in which several people have been dead and more than hundred injured.
Ghas Mandi is the residential cum commercial area of Karachi where Iron and steel work have been performed at large quantity.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah took the notice of the blast and ordered relevant authorities to arrest the accused as soon as possible and bring them before justice.
Inspector General Police Sindh and Capital City Police Officer Karachi have been sought report of the incident. SANA
