Constituting commission prerogative of government: Maulana Fazlur Rehman

ISLAMABAD: JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had said those who used to abuse PML-Q in the past were embracing them at present to become opposition leader.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said this while talking to media men here Tuesday outside parliament house.
Constituting commission is mandate of government and not any other political party , he said adding interfering in every matter and causing delay to important matters of government is not a good move.
He went on to say government included PML-N nominee Fakhr ud Din Ibrahim in Abbottabad Commission but the refusal from their nominee reflected PML-N had not consulted him while sending his name to government.
Regarding appointment of Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri as opposition leader in senate he said such right lies with senate chairman. “We had majority votes and other opposition parties were not enjoying majority. We are the largest opposition party in senate. The other political parties should respect it.
Maulana Fazl ur Rehman said his party had never sided with Pervez Musharraf. 18th amendment had also not proved productive, he observed.
Voicing protest was democratic right of every one but democratic system should run, he said adding PML-N had isolated itself by staging protest in National Assembly.
Peace in Afghanistan was inevitable for Pakistan, he underlined. Unless the situation improves therein, its repercussion will echo in Pakistan too, he underscored. Online
