Pakistan cricket chief selector Mohsin Hasanhan has revealed that he
is working on a proposal to form a separatewenty20 cricket team.
“I want 70 to 80 percent of the Twenty20 squad for next year’s Worldup
to be made up of twenty over specialists,” the Daily Times quotedhan,
as saying on Monday.
“I’ve always been keen on having a ‘separate team’ for the Twenty20ver
format and that is something that we have been working upon andill
continue to do so as the build up towards the World Cup carriesn,”
Mohsin added.
Mohsin said he was looking at the performance of players in theomestic tournaments and the county circuit.
“The boys that are playing in the Friends Life Twenty20 competition
inngland are very lucky. They are playing in a competition with a
hightandard of cricket and my fellow selectors and I will be keeping
aery close eye on their performances. It’s good for Pakistan cricket,”e
