KARACHI : At least 13 students were injured, two of them critically, when two rival groups clashed in the Premier Government College, North Nazimabad, here on Monday in the limits of Hydri police station, police said.Police said that students belonging to the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) and All Pakistan Muhajir Students Organization (APMSO) fought with iron rods and clubs.
As a result nine students of the IJT and four of the APMSO were injured. The injured were identified as Adil son of Arshad Hussain, Adnan son of Saeed, Kamil son of Shafqat, Mohammad Anas son of Nadeem, Usama, Shuja, Uzair, Sanaullah, Saad, Raziullah, Ubaid, Mohammad and Ghazanfar. They were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medical treatment. Soon after the clash in the Premier College unidentified armed men riding motorbikes opened indiscriminate fire in front of Saify Polytechnic College, North Nazimanad and fled. Tension gripped the area after the firing.
