Islamabad, March 21 (PPI):-The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday extended the physical remand of Former Religious Affairs Minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi by five days. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) produced the former minister before senior civil judge Aslam Gondal and pleaded for a nine-day extension in his remand.
However, Kazmi's counsel objected to the remand, saying a specific group was working against his client and it was not in the interest of the country.He said that thousands of Kazmi's devotees are very sensitive about his arrest. He further said that the FIA could not recover anything from Kazmi during the previous five-day remand. The court also accepted a request from Saeed Kazmi for his medical examination.On this occasion, Kazmi's supporters chanted slogans in his favour.The judge expressed annoyance regarding the presence of sloganeering supporters.
