The KESC workers have protesting for their demand at Fawara Chowk Karachi on Friday.
The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) workers staged a sit in at
Fawara Chowk due to which worst traffic jam was witnessed at I I
Chandrigar Road, MR Kayani Road, Sharah-e-Aiwan-e-sadr and other roads.
Police blocked all the routs towards Governor House with containers
and deployed heavy contingent of police around the Governor House.
DC south gave the ultimatum of 15 minutes to call off the strike and then ordered the police to charge towards the protestors.
Police used baton charge to disperse the protestors and according to
reports several members of the KESC workers union were also taken into
custody. Police used force after talks failed with protestors.
The protest had caused a traffic jam in the area which was cleared by the police later. SANA
