Pak to raise drone attacks issue in UNSC: Abudullah Hussain Haroon

The permanent representative of Pakistan in United Nations Abudullah Hussain Haroon has said that the issue of drone attacks would be raised in United Nations Security Council and the matter is under consideration of government who would finally decide in this regard.

He said that the discriminatory policy regarding declaring the nuclear assets is unacceptable and the world powers has to follow a clear, transparent and unanimous policy regarding nuclear assets.
This he said in joint press conference with minister for information and broadcasting Dr Firdous Aashiq Awan on Thursday.
He said that the selection of Pakistan as non-permanent member of UNSC despite the opposition of big powers is great success for Pakistan and all the neighboring countries voted in favor of the country.
He said that Pakistan is once again succeeded, adding that the difference in this success is that Pakistan is selected without any support of big power but the prays of nations also played a great role in success of Pakistan.
Pakistan is selected as a member of UNSC is such a time when everybody was saying that Pakistan has become alone and its foreign policy is incomplete, adding that the whole world recognizes the efforts of Pakistan for establishing peace in the world; meanwhile he said that Pakistan got the seat of UNSC when US is withdrawing its forces from Afghanistan.
He said that Pakistan will participate the meetings regarding Afghanistan in UNSC and the UNSC cannot take any step without the consensus of Pakistan; meanwhile he said that Pakistan peace mission had served in more than 35 countries of the world.
He said that the world is giving more importance to Pakistan, adding that Pakistan has played an important role in the reformation of UN articles and that Pakistan also played an important role in the selection of Secretary General UN Ban Ki Mon.
Replying to a question he said that India is lobbying for the permanent membership of UNSC and we are aware of it, adding that India had got the signatures of more than 142 countries three years ago; meanwhile he said that we want that there should be a group for the permanent seat and every country should be given chance of permanent seat.
Meanwhile, the federal minister for information and broadcasting has said that the success of Pakistan as non-permanent member of UNSC showes that Pakistan is not alone in the world and the world is showing trust on Pakistan.
The federal minister on the occasion make it clear that the federal cabinet would adopt the principle decision of approval of MFN status for India, adding that the matters were solved with India regarding MFN status by the Ministry of Commerce. SANA
