NUML Boarders protest against university high handedness

ISLAMABAD: The students of National University of Modern Languages (NUML) have protested against the high handedness of the university administration and have threatened not to pay their dues and boycott university mess until their demands are met.

NUML students talking to this news agency on Tuesday told that NUML administration has restricted the hostel students to eat from the hostel mess and they are not being allowed to bring food from home or restaurants.
“The girls’ hostel has capacity to house 70 to 80 students but the administration has packed 170 girls in the hostel, which is a great inconvenience. On top of this they have banned us to bring any food from home or outside”, a boarder, Humaira said.
Another student who wished not to be named said that the students have talked to Hostel Warden Saba Iftikhar several times to at least allow them to bring food into the rooms but she has refused to listen to their woes and has rejected their request.
The male students of the university expressed similar views. They said they have been told that if they are not willing to join the hostel mess than they have to manage their own accommodation outside the campus.
“We are being left with no choice but to hold peaceful protest and stop paying our dues until the university administration listens to us”, said a student. Online
