Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa said on Saturday he
was focusing to ask Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take vote of
confidence from Punjab Assembly as he is not enjoying majority in Punjab
Assembly.
Talking to media in the award distribution ceremony in Lahore
Gymkhana, Governor said that Shahbaz Sharif is not a member of Punjab
Assembly constitutionally. Khosa said that he took oath to uphold
constitution, adding that he thought Shahbaz Sharif was not a member of
both the seats.
He said “case is pending in Supreme Court over incompetence of Shahbaz Sharif and we are looking at the court in this regard.”
Punjab Governor said that he was seriously thinking that Chief
Minister didn’t even have simple majority and might be asked to take
vote of confidence from the assembly. However no decision has been made
in this regard, he added.
Meanwhile reacting over the statement of Khosa, Punjab Law Minister
Rana Sanaullah said that no case was pending against Chief Minister
Shahbaz Sharif regarding his competence.
He said that now Governor has to prove that which case was pending against Shahbaz Sharif.
He said that Shahbaz Sharif is a Chief Minister constitutionally and
also a member of Punjab Assembly. He said Governor Punjab could move no
confidence motion against Chief Minister through Raja Riaz and
Zahiruddin in the assembly, adding that the release of Moonis Elahi was
first fruit of alliance of PML-Q with PPP. SANA
