If generals’ judges’ & politicians held responsible in past no one would have dared to indulge in corruption today: Shahbaz Sharif

Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has said that after corruption and looting, dengue severely damaged the country. The personalities in Pakistan are strong and institutions are weak, adding that if the politicians, generals and judges were held accounted in past then no body would have been dared to indulge in corruption today.

This he said while addressing a seminar on the topic anti-campaign dengue at University of Engineering and Technology on Saturday; meanwhile Provincial Education Minister Mian Mujtaba Shujjaur Rehman, members of national and provincial assembly, vice chancellor, professors, teachers and a number of students attended the seminar.
Mian Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is passing through a very crucial situation, adding that corruption is at its peak and we are facing load shedding, poverty, unemployment and darkness of illiteracy.
Military dictators and politicians played an important role for creating this situation of country, he added.
He said we should decide to go ahead after getting a learning lesson from our mistakes, adding that the countries achieved independence after Pakistan are more developed as compared to Pakistan.
He said by making honesty and hard work our motto we also make Pakistan a prosperous country, adding that we had committed mistakes in past 64 years and by learning lessons from the past we should step forward for the progress of country.
He said that we would make accountable the bureaucrats, judges, and generals then the masses would say that the rules are real servants of masses.
Regarding the steps taken against dengue, he said that historic viral disease of dengue has severely affected the Punjab province especially Lahore, adding that the Punjab government took concrete steps against dengue and to facilitate the patients of dengue. With the support of Indonesian and Sri Lankan medical teams, the government took concrete steps against dengue.
He said that government established high dependency units for treatment of complex patients in hospitals and involved people from all walks of life, adding that we succeeded in decreasing the intensity of dengue virus in result of collective vision and hard work.
He appreciated the services of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff, who served day and night for the welfare of suffering humanity and paid salute to them.
Meanwhile Vice Chancellor Lt Gen (retd) Muhammad Akram Khan and Deputy Secretary PML-N Chaudhry Ahsan Iqbal also addressed the seminar. SANA
