JI slates police torture on students, LHWs

The Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Syed Munawar Hasan has strongly reacted to the police torture and firing on the peaceful demonstrations of the students besides the non payment of salaries to the Lady Health Workers in the Punjab.

He has called upon the Punjab Chief Minister to take immediate attention to these issues and order remedial measures.
In a statement here on Saturday, he said that the issuance of faulty results by different Education Boards in the province had put the future of the youth at stake. There has been strong protest over the incompetence of the Boards through the Punjab while the government remained a silent spectator.
He said that the evidence of bogus marking in the Boards On Line system had come to fore through the media which was a matter of serious concern. The future of thousands of students in the province had been darkened and they were protesting against that.
Similarly, he said, the Lady Health Workers had not been paid salaries for three months which had forced thousands of working women to come on roads but the government was trying to crush their protest through state power which was immoral and inhuman. SANA
