Police, interior ministry senior officials keeping mum over application filed against Rehman Malik

ISLAMABAD: Allegations levelled by Zulfiqar Mirza, former interior minister Sindh against Rehman Malik has become headache for interior minister and this has gripped capital police on Monday.

Tariq Asad, senior lawyer of Supreme Court (SC) has filed application with Secretariat police Islamabad seeking registration of FIR against Rehman Malik on the basis of accusations made by Zulfiqar Mirza against interior minister. Senior officers of police and interior ministry are keeping mum over this matter and the application has made their nights sleepless nights. .
Well placed sources told Online application given by senior lawyer Tariq Asad had been received by secretariat police. However Hakim Khan SHO secretariat police station could not be contacted on telephone despite concerted efforts.
When contacted by Online, ASP secretariat police Hassan told the applicant had met him but he had not given any application to him and nothing was in his knowledge about this matter. While SP city Capt (Retd) Ilyas had also shown his ignorance about this application.
SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf also could not be contacted and telephone call made to him was received by some one else.
When contacted by Online regarding the application filed against Rehman Malik, Inspector General Islamabad Police told he was outside the city, therefore, SSP Islamabad be contacted in this regard.
Spokesman of Interior Minister Rehman Malik also showed his ignorance in connection with this application. Online
