SC should take action on Mirza’s disclosures: Qayyum

CHAKWAL: Ex-Chairman Pakistan Steel Mills and defence analyst Lt.Gen(R) Abdul Qayyum has said that Supreme Court should take notice on the revelations made by Zulfiqar Mirza as he opened debate on important national security issues.

While talking to different delegations at his residence here on Monday he said that although most of issues raised by Mirza were not new but out of these two points were very important for the security of the country including writing a letter to British Prime Minister by Altaf Hussain for elimination of ISI and induction of Rehman Malik was made on the behest of foreign forces.
General Qayyum was of the view that Mirza leveled serious allegations on MQM which revealed that its role for the disintegration of the country which should be investigated. He said that the personality of Interior Minister Rehman Malik was disputed from the day one and its seems that his induction seems to be an agreement as Sahibzada Yaqoob Ali Khan was inducted by Benazir government in 1988 on the wishes of foreign forces.
He said that President Asif Ali Zardari must be asked that at what pressure Rehman Malik was assigned on such an important position since last three and half years General Qayyum was also very concerned by the attack of 300 Afghanis at the Pakistani check post at Chitral and NATO forces have a mum and no drone attack was made on them and it clearly showed that Afghanis troops attacked on Pakistan check post with the collaboration of NATO forces therefore Pakistan Government must take a serious notice of it.
