Pakistan is our identity, PM tell NA

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Thursday again made it clear that whatever we are today is due to Pakistan hence it is our identity.

Prime Minister expressed these views during his address at the floor of the NA on Thursday stressing that August 11 is undoubtedly an historical day.
August 11 also has a special significance in our national calendar. It was on this day in 1947 when the Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, in his historic speech to the members of the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan laid down the foundations of a modern, tolerant and progressive Pakistan in which every one will have equal rights regardless of creed, caste and gender. That speech of the Quaid marks the state policy towards minorities rooted in the freedom to every one to profess his religious beliefs freely and without fear or interference, he said.
He expressed his confidence that after passage of Eighteenth Amendment the provincial governments will continue to ensure equality, freedom and security for all communities so that they can freely profess and practice their religions and also safeguard their legitimate and rightful interests.
He said that government is facing all challenges with brave heart urging undoubtedly our nukes are in safe hand.
We must all pledge to safeguard and protect Pakistan as when we are all one together no one can even think to caste evil eye on Pakistan tooth and nail, PM concluded. Online
