Current democratic government has promoted nationalism, says PM Gilani

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani has said that current elected democratic government has promoted nationalism through the policy of reconciliation.

Addressing a seminar arranged by private media group in a local hotel here on Thursday Prime Minister said, “We would have to prefer our national interests to our personal interests. Vibrant nations never forget their leaders. Our historical and scholarly heritage is precious. Any crisis let it be flood or earthquake can not come in our way to prosperity. The people of FATA are patriotic, they have played a very crucial role for the establishment of Pakistan, and it would be wrong on our part to think negative about them”
He further said that love for the country is in our blood, country is the first identity of any famous person. Our country is facing many issues; our current democratic government is trying hard to pull our beloved country out of all these issues.
Our armed forces are playing a very important role in this regard, especially against fighting terrorism and for bringing peace in the country, he said.
He invited all the political circles for joining hands with the current government and to deal with all the issues.
“I consider that we are lucky as a nation that we live in a free state and have our own identity. I would like to pay tribute to the youth of our country that are working for making this country proud in such unfavorable conditions” he added.
Dr Atta-Ur-Rehman, Firdous Ashiq Awan, Iftikhar Arif, Ansar Barni, Shahid Afridi, Javid Sheikh and various others also addressed the seminar. Online
