Electricity shortfall rises upto 3934 MW

ISLAMABAD: Power shortfall has surged upto 3,934 mega watt (MW) while the duration of loadshedding has been recorded as 7 to 8 hours in urban areas and 13 to 15 hours in rural areas.

As per the statistics of Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) issued here on Saturday explained that at present the total production of energy is 14,636 MW while its demand is 18,570 MW.
PEPCO sources further informed that the total production of power is being generated through various resources as, from hydel power 5,873 MW, thermal units 1,es as, from hydel power 5,873 MW, thermal units 1,957 MW, IPPs 6,569 MW and Rental Power Projects 137 MW.
