President Zardari constitutes committee for peace in Karachi

President Asif Ali Zardari has constituted a four-member committee for maintaining peace in Karachi and allaying the reservations of allied parties besides issuing directives to PPP ministers to avoid making harsh statements in respect of allies.

A consultative meeting of PPP was held in Presidential camp Bilawal house here Saturday under President Asif Ali Zardari. Sources told the meeting reviewed the political scenario of the country, economic and law and order situation.
President Zardari set up 4-member committee during the meeting which will include minister for religious affairs, Syed Khurshid Shah, MNA Abdul Qadir Patel, provincial ministers Agha Seraj Durrani and Muhammad Ayyaz Soomro.
Committee will hold talks with MQM, PML-Q and PML (F) and will also hold discussions on Commissionerate system and other bills with MQM. President directed the ministers to avoid giving bitter and harsh statements against the allied parties. Policy of reconciliation would be adhered to at every cost, president stressed. Policy of reconciliation with MQM would continue and we will take along all coalition partners with us under reconciliation policy, he added.
He said PPP ministers and office bearers should gear up the preparations for upcoming elections and enhance contacts with the people. Online
