The Senate on Wednesday passed a unanimous resolution condemning the derogatory statement of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah against PPP leader Babar Awan.
The resolution moved by leader of the opposition Abdul Ghafoor Haidery terms the remarks of Punjab Law Minister as uncalled for and immoral.
The resolution demanded of the Punjab government to remove the Law Minister and take disciplinary action against him. It said if any thing happens to Babar Awan, Rana Sanaullah and the Punjab government will be held accountable for it.
Meanwhile Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah strongly condemned the statement of a senior Punjab cabinet member against PPP leader Babar Awan.
He said if any thing happens to Babar Awan, the concerned party will be held accountable for it.

Speaker National Assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza while denouncing the statement said no parliamentarian has prerogative to give Fatwa of murder against any member of the parliament and she expressed the confidence that the concerned party will look into the matter.
Khawaja Saad Rafique assured the National Assembly that the party leadership will take notice of the statement issued by the provincial cabinet minister. SANA
