Close coordination among coalition partners aimed at steering country out of crisis: PM Gilani

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that close coordination among the coalition partners is meant to launch well thought and calibrated policies to steer the country out of the present difficulties.
He further said that the economic and political situation of the country demands close cooperation among the political leadership to facilitate the implementation of policies.
During meeting with Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Senior Minister and Minister for Defence Production along with Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Minister for Labour & Manpower in the PM’s House here on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said that despite financial constraints, the Government has presented a balanced Budget with the objective to provide maximum relief to the common man.
The Prime Minister said that the overall economic outlook of the country is encouraging. He stated that exports have crossed 25 billion dollars while foreign remittances during the last financial year will be more than 11 billion dollars. He further stated that the production of wheat during the Rabi season would ensure food security and also bring prosperity in the rural areas.
While appreciating the Government’s consistent policies, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that despite the devastating floods of last year which caused 10 billion dollars’ loss and economic losses due to war against terror, the country has shown a remarkable resilience. He hoped that the economic performance during the financial year 2011-12 would be much better and help to recoup last year’s damages.  SANA
