ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly (NA) has accorded approval to
open the record of in-camera debate of parliament held during Zulfiqar
Ali Bhutto regime over issue of declaring Qadianis non Muslim minority.
NA secretariat sources told parliament’s closed door session
lasted one month over declaring Qadianis Non Muslim minority in 1974
during Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto rule. Keeping in view the sensitivity of the
matter, all the record about debate and proceedings was sealed and
handed over to the then NA speaker Sahibzada Farooq Ali Khan. The
condition was placed that it would be open at least after 30 years.
Sources told Online that Speaker NA Fahmida Mirza had given approval to keep the record of debate in library.
NA
spokesman told that speaker had de-notified the directives of the then
speaker for not opening the record. All the record of this debate was
passing through printing phase and it would soon be made part of
library record.
On the other side record of all the in-camera
proceedings of parliament on the issue of Osama Bin Laden killing,
speeches of parliamentarians and briefing of DG ISI and other senior
officers has been sealed. Even official reporter was expelled from the
