Army played hidden role in passage of resolution during joint sitting of parliament: Chaudhry Nisar

ISLAMABAD : Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that army played hidden role regarding the passage of joint resolution during the joint sitting of the parliament on 13th May.

In an interview with a private TV channel, he said that he is ready to present evidences in the presence of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani about the interference of Inter-Services-Intelligence (ISI) in politics.
He added that if Prime Minister called a special meeting then he will give names of involved persons from intelligence agency.
He said that it is necessary for the forces to ensure implementation of joint resolution of parliament, adding that government wanted to solve issues with America through resolution.
He added that they will raise this issue in budget session because government wanted to scarify the Pakistan’s interests, adding that PML-N did not stop Mian Shahbaz Sharif from attending the joint session of parliament, rather it was his personal decision, adding that if Shahbaz had attended the session it would have been better.
He said that first time opposition is trying to bring all institutions in the draw working line otherwise in the past opposition always tried to dissolve the government with the help of establishment, adding that they want that establishment should avoid interference in politics of the country.
He added that all institutions should work in their legal limits and India Pakistan both are atomic powers and we cannot triumph over each other and it is a destructive way for both countries.
He said that his party is in favor of dialogues but dialogue process did not change Indian behavior, adding that entire world is witnessing Indian cruelty.
Replying a question, Nisar said that since one and a half years agencies started interference in the political system and names of those persons are available, who contacted PML-N members.
He said that in the joint session of parliament role of agencies was not discussed and he is ready to produce evidences before the important and concern stakeholders, adding that they are not against any institution and they want to strengthen all institutions of the country.
He added that there is another intelligence agency of army Military Intelligence (MI) but nobody talks about its interference because that is not interfering in political system.
He added that he felt ashamed when some members beat the desk during the briefing of army and he showed strong reaction when they (Army) talk about the one party that if this is way of working then matter of all parties should be opened.
He added that government took time for the establishment of commission and when Prime Minister do not started consultation he sent a letter to PM abut the names, adding that meeting between him and PM is necessary regarding this matter.
He said that it is included in the terms of references of commission that why and how not all were aware about the presence of Osama bin Laden when he was living since long time, adding that those steps should be initiated, which do not allow same incident in the future.
He said that in the parliament, his party had not any direct interaction with army, ministers were informing about the army and government to PML-N in parliament, adding that the government was not ready to agree on the suggestions of PML-N but army did because army wanted that a strong message should be sent through this resolution.
He added that army played an important role in the resolution so it should respect this document because army was part of it with government. He said that in very limited time after the resolution government started dialogues with America without taking parliament into confidence.
He said that if joint session of parliament held in front of public then it increases the public confidence on government, adding that resolution is according to sentiments of masses so army should keep it in mind.
He said that they do not want to insult any institution but wanted to put house in order and if there are agreement then people should be aware of it. He concluded that in-camera session showed a ray of hope for masses and they has some options regarding this, which leadership will announce. SANA
