ISLAMABAD : Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday rejected the Federal
Investigation Agency (FIA) report into the Pakistan
Steel Mill’s corruption case and asked the government to appoint a competent
persons as chairman of the PSM.
Three member bench headed by Justice Javed Iqbal and comprising Justice Raja
Fayyaz Ahmed and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the PSM corruption case and
during the proceedings of the case Justice Javed Iqbal said that FIA should
recover 26 billion rupees looted money of PSM.
Justice Javed said that the people in FIA are dishonest, adding that the rich
are using FIA to fulfill their wrong aspirations.
The FIA director submitted the investigation report in the Supreme Court and
said that the FIA is trying its best to bring back the people involved in steel
mill’s corruption.
Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed in his remarks said that the FIA was established
for poor people, adding that it is helpless before the rich people of the
country.
Justice Javed further said that the biggest cause behind the corruption in
Pakistan Steel Mill’s is the absence of permanent chairman.
Barrister Zafarullah Khan during the proceedings of the case said that the
matters could be improved after implementing the report of the Ministry of
Defence Production; on this

Justice Javed Iqbal over the investigation report of the FIA regarding the
PSM corruption case; said that the performance of the FIA is zero, adding that
there is no practical progress regarding the case.
He said that 26 billion rupees money was embezzled from the Pakistan Steel
Mills; meanwhile Justice Javed asked the FIA officials that they should inform
the court if there was any hurdle in the investigation process, adding that the
court would remove the hurdles if there are any.
Justice Raja Fayyaz said that investigation is being conducted according to
the will of the accused persons, adding that the corrupt people are looting the
money of the country with both hands. SANA
