QUETTA: The president JWP (Jamhoori Watan Party), Shah Zain Bugti has strongly voiced against drilling for new oil, gas reserves in Dera Bugti, saying that ‘our permission for the purpose was never sought’.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta on Saturday, he cited a recent statement of FC, announcing discovery and initiation of new oil and gas reserves in Dera Bugti which would be enough for 50 years’ need of Nation; and strongly warned about resistance to any drilling of Baloch assets.
He said that if Islamabad government wanted to reconcile Baloch militant elements, the governemnt might as well arrest Musharraf and bring him back to Country, besides pulling out troops from Province, ending the role of intelligence agencies, immediate recovery of missing persons, and release of political dissidents.
He demanded Provincial equality for Balochistan to that of other three Provinces, and said that DCO Dera Bugti had been given Rs3 billion for refugees of Dera Bugti, and a dispute was going on between administrations over its utilization.
He also rejected census, since there were Afghan refugees in the Province as well, and could be counted in as well; advising to wait until these Afghan refugees departed to Afghanistan.
He also threatened to file a writ petition in Balochistan High Court for a stay order , and said that he could even force out OGDCL from Dera Bugti . Online
