Secret talks going on between Indian Government & Pakistan army

London : Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh opened secret talks with Pakistan Army Chief 10 months ago to build up the cricket-inspired diplomatic thaw between the two countries.

According to British based newspaper that Man Mohan Singh appointed an unofficial envoy to make contact with General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Pakistan’s chief of the Army Staff.
According to report that talks through a back channel have encouraged the UK and US believe that the countries competition for influence in Afghanistan could be better managed during efforts to start a peace process.
The visit of Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to watch the semi-final match between India and Pakistan in the cricket World Cup at Mohali last month sparked hope of a diplomatic thaw between the two neighboring countries.
As per report that during the recent visit of Kabul General Kayani met members of the high peace council, report stated this body is set up to build contacts with Taliban groups.
According to new development in the story, India rejected the British based newspaper’s report about the Manmohan Singh’s back channel diplomacy with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff for the dialogues.
