NA body calls for Pakistan Govt's strict talk with US to end drone campaign

Pakistan's Parliamentary Committee on National Security has urged the government to categorically talk to the United States for ending its drone campaign in the country's tribal region.
The committee said that the US would not review its policies unless Pakistan adopted a decisive and strict tone in this regard, The News reports.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hina Rabbani Khar, briefed the committee on Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's visit to Afghanistan, US drone attacks and Pakistan's relations with its neighbouring countries, including India.
Sources said that the committee members were of the view that the government and the public were on the same page regarding the US drone campaign.
They were of the view that relations between Pakistan and the US can never normalise until these attacks are stopped.
According to the sources, the committee directed the implementation of its past recommendations on Pakistan's security situation.
The committee also welcomed the resumption of the dialogue process with India, and said that this would pave the way for better relations and removal of reservations between the two nations. (ANI)
