In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and several other pro-freedom parties have termed the authorities’ order of issuing DograCertificates to the people of Jammu a deep-rooted conspiracy to divide the territory on ethnic lines.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar said that it was a conspiracy to divide the territory on regional and ethnic lines. The JKLF Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik in a media interview said that such tactics to divide the occupied territory could have adverse impact on the political landscape not only on Jammu and Kashmir but on the entire South Asia. On one hand, New Delhi and the Indian civil society beat the trumpet that they don’t want the division of Jammu and Kashmir on communal or ethnic lines, but on the other, sly tactics are being adopted to divide the territory, he added. The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF), Nayeem Ahmad Khan in his statement described the issuance of Dogra Certificates a part of the long term policy of India aimed at weakening the Kashmir liberation movement. He said, “New Delhi is not only engineering demographic change in Jammu and Kashmir but is also engaged in the process of establishing the dominance of a particular section over the majority community. The JKLF-R leaders, Farooq Ahmad Dar and Javed Ahmad Mir in a joint statement in Srinagar described the issuance of Dogra Certificates to the people of Jammu as a deep-rooted conspiracy and demanded its immediate revocation.
