Ali Gilani Calls for complete shutdown on Saturday

Srinagar -  In occupied Kashmir, veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has called for a complete shutdown on Saturday against illegal detentions of Hurriyet leaders and to draw attention of the international community towards gross human rights violations perpetrated by Indian troops in the territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the occupation authorities were using oppressive tactics against innocent Kashmiris on New Delhi’s directives to suppress their liberation movement.
He said that India wanted to muzzle the just voice of Kashmiris through use of brute tactics. Syed Ali Gilani said that the pro-freedom leaders and activists had been detained without any justification.
Pointing out that the puppet authorities were invoking the draconian law, Public Safety Act, against the innocent Kashmiris, he said,  “The oppressive tactics have made the lives of common peopleparticularly youth a hell. They are being unlawfully arrested on fake charges.
He expressed concern over the deteriorated health conditions of illegally detained Hurriyet leaders and activists in different jails of the territory.
The jail authorities were not providing the basic health facilities to illegally detained women Hurriyet leaders, he deplored.     Gilani appealed the people of Kashmir to observe a complete shutdown on Saturday and asked the international human rights organisations to take note of rights’ abuses in the territory.
We can not remain silent over the continued oppression and use of brute force against innocent Kashmiri people, the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader maintained.PPI
