Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that misunderstandings were being created about
the clash of institutions, adding that the test tube babies could not
send the elected government because the 180 million Pakistanis are on
the back of PPP.
Speaking to a gathering after inaugurating Muhammad Wala Bridge in
Multan, Gilani said ‘political orphans’ come on TV shows and claim that
the PM is leaving, adding that the he is backed by the masses and will
not surrender to their criticism.
He said that the political orphans and test tube babies are
gathering in one party, adding that these persons were the right hands
of Parvez Musharraf, adding that these persons are the rejected faces
of masses.
Gilani said that the present government has ended the deprivation
and discrimination faced by the nation for the last 65 years, adding
that if the whole problems were not solved these were decreased greatly.
Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said the government took a bold and
principled stand on the unprovoked NATO attacks on the Salala check
posts and blocked the NATO supplies with the national consensus.
He said that the PPP government has restored the Constitution given
by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, adding that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had started the
nuclear program and Benazir Bhutto had started the missile program.
He said that the PPP is the symbol of federation and it would continue to play its role in strengthening national institutions.
He said the PPP government gave full freedom to media‚ restored Judges and will never go against the wishes of the people.
He said the Shamsi Airbase was also got vacated from the United
States as per the will of the people of Pakistan. The Prime Minister
declared that Pakistan wants friendly relations with all the world
powers and its neighbours but no one would be allowed to cast an evil
eye on our national interests.
He said the government has launched development projects of one
point five trillion rupees in the country during the last four years to
provide basic facilities to the people in various sectors.
Earlier‚ the Prime Minister inaugurated the Head Muhammadwala Bridge constructed on River Chinab near Multan.
The two-lane bridge measuring one point one kilometers has been
constructed at a cost of two point eight billion rupees under the Prime
Minister s Development Package for southern Punjab. The project also
includes two link roads of ten kilometers.
Briefing the Prime Minister about the project‚ the Secretary NHA
said with the completion of this bridge seventy kilometers distance has
been reduced between Multan‚ Jhang‚ Mianwali‚ Layyah and Dera Ismail
Khan.
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of four point five
kilometers long road to link Head Mohammadwala Bridge with Motorway.
He also laid the foundation stone of Akbar Salabi Band costing eleven million rupees. SANA
