Imran Khan slates increase in gas prices

Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, strongly condemned the steep price hike in the gas tariff (13.98 to 207.10%). He said that this was another special gift of the Government at the start of a new year to the people of Pakistan.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, he predicted that the continuous price increase of basic public utilities is going to further depress and marginalize the people who have been continuously suffering for the last four years due to record breaking incompetence and corruption of the Government.
Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf said that the Government was responsible for destroying all major public sector enterprises including OGDC, Pakistan Steel, Pakistan Railways and PIA.
The Chairman claimed that these enterprises were ruined by nepotism and cronyism whereby the only merit of heading these organizations was the relationship of the management with the President or the Prime minister.
He demanded that the Government should immediately give relief in the tariff to the poor people or be prepared for a strong public reaction. SANA
