ISLAMABAD: Terming the security measurement as sufficient, the
Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) has summoned Mansoor
Ijaz, the main characters in the memo scandal, on February 10.
In
order to review the security arrangement for Mansoor Ijaz visit with
evidences pertaining to the memo scandal, the committee met here in the
parliament house under chairmanship of Senator Raza Rabbani.
Attorney
General Maulvi Anwarul Haq briefed the committee on the security
arrangements of Mansoor Ijaz and discussions with Blackberry company.
The committee noted that the blames of inappropriate security
arrangement had no truth and vowed to take further steps in this
connection if needed.
The committee has convened its next meeting on February 10 and asked Ijaz to appear before it on the same day.
The
committee had earlier asked Mansoor Ijaz to appear in the committee’s
meeting. Similarly Judicial Commission on Memo had also summoned him.
But so far he never appeared before the commission or the committee.
After
the committee meeting on January 24, Rabbani in his briefing made it
clear that if Ijaz would not appear before the commission or record his
statement of evidence then legal step would be taken in this connection.
Ijaz had earlier claiming that he would appear before the memo
commission but then stepped back reportedly saying that he is not
