Mansoor Ijaz seeks Chief Justice assurance for coming to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Mansoor Ijaz, the main character in the memogate, has claimed that Interior Minister Rehman Malik is threatening him directly and indirectly, saying, “He is ready to come to Pakistan provided the chief justice held out assurance to him that he will be given security and will be safe.”

A private TV channel said that it had obtained the details of the secret email written to the chief justice of Pakistan by Ijaz. It said that in the email Ijaz had written that if he stuck in Pakistan, his business and family life would be affected.
Demanding assurance from the chief justice for his security and safety in Pakistan, Ijaz had set the condition that if he came to Pakistan for recording statement before the commission probing the memogate scandal he would return from the next available flight.
He also claimed that he had proposed to the apex court to lift resections on Hussain Haqqani to travel abroad. Online
