Akram Sheikh files plea in SC seeking permission for sending memo commission aboard to register Mansoor statement

Akram Sheikh, a counsel of key character of memogate scandal Mansoor Ijaz, has file petition in Supreme Court, seeking permission for sending memo probe commission aboard to register his client’s statements.

He has pleaded in the plea that there are threats to the life of Mansoor in Pakistan and Supreme Court should order the commission to record the statement of Mansoor in abroad.
Akram Sheikh, the advocate of Mansoor Ijaz, on behalf of Advocate on Record, asking the court to allow the commission to go abroad for recording Ijaz’s statement.
According to the sources, Akram Sheikh would present his opinion in the apex court that the government created hurdles in Mansoor Ijaz’s trip to Pakistan.
He would ask the court to allow memo probe commission to visit abroad for the registration of his client’s statements.
Akram sheikh confirmed to a private TV channel that the plea has been submitted in SC, adding that the commission had stopped the parties in memogate from issuing statements that is why he would not say anything regarding the matter.
Akram Sheikh hoped that a nine-member bench of Supreme Court headed by Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will hear the petition tomorrow (Monday). SANA
