PML-N moves SC over memogate

ISLAMABAD: The PML-N on Wednesday filed a petition regarding the memo issue in the Supreme Court.

The petition has been filed on behalf of the N-league President Nawaz Sharif, making President Asif Ali Zardari, Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Ahmed Shuja Pasha, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, Hussain Haqqani, Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir and Mansoor Ijaz as respondents. Earlier sources close to Sharif family revealed the decision to this effect was taken by the party head after consultation with the top PML-N leadership.
Though the party head hurled a deadline of two days to the incumbent for holding an impartial and thorough probe into a very sensitive issue, it decided to go ahead with the court option, watching inactivity at the government side.
On Tuesday, Pakistan Ambassador to Washington Hussain Haqqani resigned from the post over the memogate issue, during a high level meeting of Islamabad’s civilian and military leadership. Online
