ISLAMABAD: Report of the Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue,
Planning and Development on the bill for imposition and collection of
gas infrastructure development Cess was presented on Wednesday in
National Assembly.
With the permission of the house the report
that was approved for presenting in the parliament was introduced by
Chairperson of the Standing Committee Fauzia Wahab.
The purpose
of the bill, the Gas Infrastructure Development Cess Act, 2011, was
mentioned as for imposition and collection of gas infrastructure.
After
passing the bill every company shall pay cess at the ratio notified by
the federal government. The bill makes it mandatory the cess should be
utalised in connection with infrastructure development of Iran Pakistan
Pipeline Project, LNG or other project like price equalization of other
alternative fuels.
She also introduced the committee report bill
for further amending the petroleum Products (petroleum Levy) Ordinance
!961 and Petroleum Products (Petroleum Levy) (Amendment) Bill, 2011
referred to the committee on October 18. Online
