Chairman Mutehida Jihad Council Syed Salahuddin has disclosed that
Pakistani origin US citizen Mansoor Ijaz, who got fame on the disputed
memo, offered an economic package to Muttahida Jihad Council over
ceasefire in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
Talking to “SANA” exclusively Syed Salahuddin said that on refusal of
this package by Mutahida Jihad Council, Mansoor Ijaz along with his
mother came to Muzaffarabad to meet Syed Salahuddin for ceasefire in
Indian Occupied Kashmir. Mujahideen gave threat to Mansoor Ijaz and said
to not insist over ceasefire issue; otherwise, there would be danger
for him.
The Chief of Muttuhida Jihad Council Syed Salahuddin said that in
2001 the Chief Commander of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Majeed Dar declared
ceasefire without the consultation of Mujahideen command.
He kept this condition that the ceasefire will remain exist if India
calls back its troops from Occupied Kashmir, continuation of trilateral
talks and the acceptance of Kashmir dispute.
Syed Salahuddin said, due to non compliance of these conditions by
India, I called a press conference in Islamabad and announced to take
back the decision of ceasefire.
According to Syed Salahuddin, on the second day after the end of ceasefire, Khalid Khwaja came to him along with Mansoor Ijaz.
Mansoor Ijaz said to him that he is very close to White House and
deals the Muslim issues, adding that Mansoor Ijaz showed a photograph in
which he stood in the middle of US President Clinton and Hillary
Clinton.
Mansoor Ijaz said to me that the Mujahideen should continue the
ceasefire and let the peace process to go ahead, Salahuddin said.
Salahuddin further said that he denied the proposal of Mansoor Ijaz and repeated the conditions that had been kept with India.
He further said that Mansoor Ijaz came to me in Muzaffarabad after
few days along with his mother after my refusal about ceasefire. He said
that Mansoor Ijaz and his mother told me, if Kashmiri Mujahideen
continue ceasefire and gave a chance to go ahead to peace process then
Kashmiris would be given a huge economic package for the development of
destroyed infrastructure. Her mother said that for the development of
roads, schools and hospitals in Kashmir, funds would be allocated for
its development. These funds would be spent by my (Salahuddin) will.
According to Salahuddin, the mother of Mansoor Ijaz was insisting ceasefire and she was more active on this issue.
Salahuddin said that he denied this proposal and they have been given
threat if they insist over ceasefire then result will be disastrous.
However, they did not come to him after this threat. SANA
