Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that secret agencies are in control of government and PPP had not participated in Imran Khan’s Show in Lahore.
Addressing the 125th Year Celebrations of Aitchison College and
talking to media later on Saturday the Prime Minister said that those
who talk of agencies’ involvement in everything must understand that the
agencies are with the incumbent government. He said the government
however doesn’t need to show its political muscle.
He said it is no doubt that Imran Khan managed a successful rally in
Lahore, but “the saying goes there are many a slips between a cup and
lips”. He said the PPP is a formidable party and would win the next
elections, adding that Imran’s one successful rally isn’t enough.
“Since, we are in the government, and the government doesn’t need to
show power or muscles to prove its strength”, the Prime Minister said.
He rejected the allegations of PML-N, JUI and certain parties and
made it clear that the agencies were not involved in making the PTI
public meeting in Lahore successful.
He said that most of the political parties were coalition partners in
the Federal Government, therefore, the parties or the public were not
wary of democratic set-up. SANA
