Sindh government on Saturday issued two notifications regarding ban on public gatherings in the metropolis.
According to details, Sindh’s Home Department issued two near
simultaneous but opposite notifications regarding ban on public
gatherings within a couple of hours this morning.
The provincial government issued a notification extending one month
to the ongoing ban on public gatherings in the city; but, a little
later, this notification was cancelled with another one lifting the ban
for two days making allowances for a rally by Muttahida Qaumi Movement
(MQM) today (Sunday) meant to express solidarity with President Asif Ali
Zardari.
The MQM chief Altaf Hussain said the usage of offensive language against President would be protested tomorrow.
Muttahida’s chief appealed to leaders and workers of political
parties and people to partake in the rally. Pakistan People’s Party
(PPP) responded to the appeal in affirmation and vowed their support for
the rally.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah directed the party leaders and workers to attend MQM’s rally. SANA
