The Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch has said that political parties
who had been in power for the last four years in the name of
reconciliation and democracy should not poison the atmosphere that could
end up in some extra constitutional change.
Talking to a delegation of notables from the city at Mansoora, he
said that holding public meetings, rallies and protest was the
democratic right of the parties but the country was passing through a
crisis and irresponsible statements and biter language of political
leadership could help some foreign or internal forces in their evil
designs.
Liaqat Baloch said that the governments coming into being after the
February 2008 elections had proved total failure and were a burden on
the masses. The government was not prepared to implement the resolutions
of the parliament and the APC’s and the rulers were shamefully
insulting the judiciary instead of complying with its orders, thereby
proving themselves as protectors of corruption. Leading national
institutions including Railways, PIA, Steel Mills had been destroyed
only for commissions.
He said that the JI stance since 9/11 had been proved to be correct.
The country’s independence, integrity and solidarity could be protected
only by patriotic, honest and competent leadership which only the JI
could provide. SANA
