Army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has cancelled his scheduled tour to Britain in the wake of tense Pak-US ties.
This has been reported by a foreign news agency quoting UK defense ministry.
The report said that General Kayani was scheduled to meet British Foreign Minister Lian Fox in his tour to UK.
It further Pakistan officials saying that the army chief would stay
in Pakistan in the wake of situation arising from US allegations
against ISI.
Britain’s Ministry of Defense said Gen. Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, who
was expected to meet privately with UK Defense Minister Liam Fox, had
canceled. It declined to speculate on why the visit was scrapped.
A private TV channel citing the sources of foreign news agency said that general kaynai has cancelled his British visit.
According to a private TV channel the Pakistani High Commission in
London has also confirmed the cancellation of the COAS visit of
Britain. According to the High Commission the visit was cancelled due
to the situation of Pakistan after the threats of US officials. SANA
