Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr. Fehmida Mirza on Wednesday stressed the need to forge unity among the Muslim Ummah to address the challenges confronting it.She emphasized for greater unity and collaborative efforts among the Ummah to address those problems. Dr.

Commission of Majlis-e-Shura Islami (Parliament), Iran in Parliament
House.The Speaker said that Pakistan and Iran were attached in eternal bonds of Religion, Culture and history, therefore, Pakistan attaches immense importance to its relations with Iran.
She said that both the brotherly countries should make efforts for creating unity amongst the Muslim Ummah for development, stability and peace.
The Speaker said that peace and security were essential for progress and prosperity of the Ummah and therefore , it was in the interest of all to cooperate with one another to achieve those objectives.
Fehmida Mirza said that enhanced interaction of parliamentarians of Pakistan and Iran was essential for strengthening relations and benefitting from each other experiences. She said that the existence of Pak-Iran friendship group in the parliaments of both the countries was a step in right direction that will add to bring the two nations further closer.
She underlined the need for initiation of more economic projects and cooperation between the two countries.
Ali Akbar said that Pakistan and Iran are bonded in the ties of religion, culture and history. He agreed that Muslim World was surely facing the challenges that can be countered by joint efforts. He said that Pak-Iran parliamentary and economic cooperation was certainly essential for progress and prosperity of people of both the countries.
He said that government and people of Iran would always stand by Pakistan in hour of need. He assured the Speaker of his country’s full support in curbing terrorism and extremism from Pakistan and to meet the energy deficit in the country.
Later, Ali Akbar presented a letter of invitation to Speaker National Assembly on behalf of Ali Ardashir Larijani, Speaker of the Iranian Majlis to attend the “Special Conference of Speakers of Parliaments of Palestine” to be held in Tehran in October.
The Speaker thanked the Iranian Speaker for arranging Conference on issue of immense importance. APP
