The Supreme Court on Wednesday reprimand the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials and reserved the judgment on contempt of court notice against DG FIA Malik Iqbal.
The court ordered interior ministry and secretaries’ establishment division to submit the complete record of investigation officer of NICL Zafar Qureshi.
A larger bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan was hearing the case on Wednesday.
During the course of hearing, secretary establishment Abdul Rauf told the court that Zafar Qureshi was transferred on the orders of Prime Minister and he can submit his written reply regarding this.
Chief Justice said that all officials are involved in the transfer and there is no law in the country for powerful people but Supreme Court is with clear attention to end the corruption in the country.
Secretary interior Qamar Zaman told the court that he did not issue transfer orders of Zafar Qureshi and he forwarded DG FIA letter to secretary division.
Abdul Rauf told the court that he did not send any summery for the transfer and he transferred Zafar Qureshi on the oral orders of Prime Minister on May 18.
Lawyer Abdul Hafeez Pirzada said that only Prime Minister has the powers to change the grade 22 officer and.
CJ said to Abdul Rauf that if you want to avoid court of contempt case then you should transfer Zafar Qureshi back in FIA, adding that they are tolerating because they wanted to allow system to run otherwise they can passed orders in one movement.
Later the court reserved the judgment of court till June 25. SANA
