A man was shot dead by Pakistani security personnel after he was allegedly caught snatching cash and valuables from visitors to a park in Karachi, a media report said Thursday.
Sarfaraz Shah, 25, was gunned down by the Sindh Rangers Wednesday evening outside the Benazir Shaheed Park, Dawn News reported.
"A man approached the Rangers personnel deputed outside the park with a complaint against a young bandit inside the park. The Rangers officials went inside and spotted the youngster who fired at them. Return fire from the Rangers killed the bandit," a Sindh Rangers spokesman said.
However, footage released by news channels showed the man was unarmed and was shot from a very close range, the report said. IANS
