Rehman Malik claims foreign intervention in Baluchistan

Quetta: While rejecting the perception regarding presence of Quetta Shoora, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Sunday said that there have had evidences of external interference in Baluchistan, adding that the Baluch people know the difference between friends and foes.

Talking to the media at Chief Minister’s House after reaching Quetta, the minister said that every possible step has been taken for the restoration of law and order in Baluchistan and the law enforcement agencies are working in a coordinated manner. He said that few handful conspirators are deteriorating the situation on the dictation of foreign powers just to fulfill their malicious intensions but the people know these anti-state elements very well.
He further stated that many annoyed people responded his call in positive way as they began to return their homes in Baluchistan. Chief Minister Baluchistan Nawab Aslam Raisani played a very important role in bringing back these people through negotiation process. “Minor political cases would be withdrawn against those people when went on mountains. I ask them to come back their homes and start talks with the government”, minister added.
He said that unluckily anti Pakistan elements first killed Punjabis in Baluchistan; they made victims to Hazarvi people and now are murdering the Sindhis. He said that the law and order situation in Quetta is much better. The security forces are fighting these elements but the media should play its positive role in this connection.
“The government is paying full heed towards the resolving the problems of Baluchistan and concrete measures are being taken in this regard. The province would get maximum benefits from the 18th amendment. Baluchistan is an important province full of natural resources”, interior minister added.
While giving reply to a question, he said that target killings have been reduced to considerable level. Those who were arrested on the charges of targeted killing belonged to PPP, MQM and ANP. The power game there has been going on since long. The whole nation would have to be united to confront the enemies of the country. He said that it is right that there are numerous foes of Pakistan including Bait Ullah Mahsood and no concession would be given to them. He said that inquiry of Khorotabad incident is underway and the action would be taken after its report come to surface.
Responding a question, Malik said that only 31 persons are still missing as remaining lost people have been recovered on the orders of Supreme Court.Online
