PM to lead delegation in 17th SAARC summit meeting

Islamabad: The 17th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit would be held at Malay, the capital city of Maldives during last week of current month in which Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani would represent Pakistan.
Either heads of states or heads of governments from SAARC member countries including Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan and host Maldives would participate the meeting, which is scheduled to be held during last week of current month, however the final dates for the summit meeting were not finalized yet.
Before the summit conference, the meeting at ministerial level would be held to decide the agenda. The sources said that the meeting would discuss regional peace, trade especially Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) between member counters, instigate one currency system, easing down the visa conditions in SAARC states, education, health and other important issues.
