Electricity load shedding duration can increase in Pakistan owing to surge in shortfall.
According to Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) authorities, recent wave hot weather in the country increased power consumption. The gap between the demand and supply of electricity caused the unscheduled load shedding as the power shortfall reached around 3,000 megawatt.
National Power Control Centre in Islamabad shut the supply to the overloaded grids of the country that caused the long hours of power outage in big cities.
PEPCO officials said that the whole power supply system can trip, if supply to overloaded grids were not shut. SANA
